Writing is Imagination in Flight

About Me

My photo
Ruth J. Hartman spends her days herding cats, and her nights spinning mysterious romantic tales that make you smile and laugh out loud - or so she's been told my readers! She, her husband Garry, and their two cats, love to spend time curled up in their recliners watching old Cary Grant movies. Well, the cats, Roxy and Remmie, sit in the people's recliners. Not that the cats couldn't get their own furniture. They just choose to shed on someone else's. You know how selfish those little furry creatures can be.

Garrett Rothchild Cantlebury, the 5th Duke of Ravensworth, is shocked to discover a woman trapped in his abandoned well. The place that holds reminders of horrible loss for him. Determined to save the poor girl, he pushes those thoughts aside, refusing to dwell on them. But the rescued damsel in distress ends up making him face a darker truth. One that threatens both their futures.

Can Sasha and Garrett put family tragedy behind them and find love together?

Time to Write

Yes, it's true. I haven't posted here for a while. Wanna know where I've been hiding? In my writing cave! Until 3 weeks ago, I went through some health complications that knocked me flat. I felt so awful that I didn't really care about much. Including writing.

But now that I'm feeling better, I'm back! I'd started a new Regency Romance before I became ill, and didn't get very far with it. I had the main idea and sort of a flimsy outline. And I'd written a couple of chapters. Getting back into the story a couple of weeks ago, I thought, okay, I'll ease my way back in.

Until my publisher put out a call for Summer Regencies. With a submission date that was two weeks away!

I worked really hard and typed til my fingers ached. (Thank goodness for an understanding husband, some of the, uh, housework kind of got behind). I'm pleased to say that last night I finished the story and hit SEND so it could fly through space to my publisher's computer.

Such a great feeling!

Now, of course, the housework looms. Better get to that....

Oh and by the way, I'll be at Romantic Times in Kansas City!!! So if you're attending, look me up! I'll have copies of "Rescued by a Duke" and "Better Than Catnip" :)
