Writing is Imagination in Flight

About Me

My photo
Ruth J. Hartman spends her days herding cats, and her nights spinning mysterious romantic tales that make you smile and laugh out loud - or so she's been told my readers! She, her husband Garry, and their two cats, love to spend time curled up in their recliners watching old Cary Grant movies. Well, the cats, Roxy and Remmie, sit in the people's recliners. Not that the cats couldn't get their own furniture. They just choose to shed on someone else's. You know how selfish those little furry creatures can be.

Love Life of an Author

When you've been married for nearly thirty years, some things are a little different than when you're a newlywed. At forty-nine, I now have issues I never dreamed would happen. I had to purchase this sleep mask this week, so the light from my husband's reading lamp wouldn't keep me awake. Since my eye surgeries, I'm seriously light-sensitive. Even with my eyes closed, light hitting our bedroom wall from traffic outside our window jolts me awake.

So instead of a come-hither look when I crawl into bed at night, I slip on my hand braces for carpal tunnel, mouth guard for teeth-grinding, and now...my leopard print sleep mask. And believe it or not, this was the most sedate mask I could find! I couldn't bring myself to get the one that made me look like a hoot-owl.

That might have just sent my husband over the edge.

'Night, Honey!

Funny post- I loved the title.
My manly mine has told me once or twice that it's hard for him to sleep unless I'm typing away at my keyboard. he'd gotten so used to it that when I don't do it, it disturbs him.
